Lost Without WordsCo-leaders of the Improbable theatre company, Phelim McDermott and Lee Simpson, present Lost Without Words at the National Theatre this March. Created on the back of a meeting between McDermott and an established actor who was concerned his age was preventing him from remembering his lines, the production explores what would happen if six older actors in their 70s and 80s get up on stage without a script. Having spent their lives being other people, bringing life to other people's words, what will they do with nothing but themselves and no words but their own? In this bold theatrical experiment, audiences will get to enjoy a unique show every night.

About National Theatre: Dorfman Theatre

Replacing the National Theatre's Cottesloe Theatre, which closed in 2013, the Dorfman Theatre offers a greater capacity, more comfortable seats, better sightlines and enlarged foyer spaces. The National Theatre's smallest space, it was renamed after philanthropist Lloyd Dorfman, founder and chairman of Travelex, who provided a large donation towards the National's £80m future development programme.
