This annual nationwide campaign organised by parks charity GreenSpace helps us appreciate the grassy parks and open spaces that bring colour and oxygen to city living. There are several London parks taking part in the Love Parks Week with a host of events taking place in green spaces from Hampstead Heath in the north to Brockwell Park in the south. Head to the Heath for a variety of events from fishing lessons to a performance by the Becontree Brass Band or if you want to learn more about butterflies (at Butterfly House, Golders Hill Park, NW11) - it's all free. Things take a magical turn when 'Alice in the Walled Garden' (?5) is performed at Brockwell Park where the actors take the audience on a tour around the walled garden, walking as they act out their adaptation of the famous Lewis Carroll tale. There are events taking place a huge number of London locations from Walthamstow Marshes to Jersey Gardens in Osterley so it won't be hard to find a park near you taking part, check www.loveparksweek.org.uk for full details.About Hampstead Heath
