Steve Marmion - recently appointed as Soho Theatre's new director - directs this Open Air Theatre version of Shakespeare's Macbeth which has been re-imagined for family audiences, aged six and over. Having worked as an associate director at the RSC - and overseen the transfer of Rupert Goold's Macbeth onto Broadway - Steve is well versed in staging Shakespearean plays. Here he uses the Bard's original text but condenses the action into a format that younger viewers will appreciate. The three witches who predict Macbeth will become king kick start the sequence of events that result in blood shed, battles and the descent into madness. In short, this version of the most famous Scottish tragedy has all the ingredients for a really good drama, ideal for children getting their first taste of Shakespeare.About Open Air Theatre, Regent's Park
