THIS EVENT ENDED ON THE 27TH APRIL 2013
Here's an exciting prospect: Scottish actor James McAvoy, who has enjoyed big screen success with Atonement and The Last King of Scotland, stars as Macbeth in a new season at Trafalgar Studios, called Trafalgar Transformed, directed by Jamie Lloyd. The pair previously worked together when McAvoy last appeared on stage in 2009 in (the Olivier Award nominated) Three Days of Rain at the Apollo Theatre which Lloyd also directed. For this production to be played in the round Shakespeare's darkest tale is played out in a dystopian Scotland brutalised by war. Design for all the plays in Jamie Lloyd's season is by Soutra Gilmour, who won the 2012 Evening Standard Award for Best Design.
