The Clapham Weekender consists of two all-day dance music marathons: South West Four and Get Loaded in the Park. The August bank holiday outdoor party on Clapham Common gets off to a flying start with Sasha & Digweed headlining Saturday's SW4 festival. Also featuring is French funky house legend David Guetta, Saved's Nic Fanciulli and the likes of Timo Maas, Layo & Bushwacka!, and James Lavelle. Top of the bill for Sunday's Get Loaded in the Park are Orbital, the veteran techno brothers renowned for flipping their disks while wearing funny torch-beam glasses. Phil and Paul Hartnoll have come out of retirement this year to perform at a series of festivals, including this, their principal London event, and the Big Chill. Also starring on day two are Royksopp, Laurent Garnier and Felix Da Housecat. The two-day Clapham Weekender has proved a great success over the last few years, filling Clapham Common with revellers united in the knowledge that there's no work on Monday and so the party can go on and on.About Clapham Common
With 220 acres of green space, Clapham Common has often been associated with young professionals who sip champagne and eat salmon out of their wicker picnic hampers. In fact, the park is as diverse as it is vast. Crammed with kite flyers, joggers, cyclists and children it is one of the most popular spaces in south London. More about Clapham Common
