Making a welcome return in 2016, the first Midcentury Modern of the year brings 65 top midcentury dealers and 25 contemporary designers to Dulwich College. Run in association with Elle Decoration the selling show, described as "design heaven" by Orla Kiely, has everything from an original Cherner chair to a contemporary piece from a hot young British designer. London based freelance photographer Kev Dutton, whose work has been chosen by Apple as a downloadable wallpaper for their latest iPhones, is just one of the artists showing his work. Discover designer pieces from Europe's best dealers downstairs and in the arches and hall at Christison Hall and top contemporary designers upstairs. The one-day show is the historic Dulwich College, five minutes' walk from West Dulwich Railway Station. If you're in the area, leave time to visit local attractions including the Dulwich Picture Gallery, and use our guide to the hotels near Midcentury Modern.
Independent school for boys aged 7 to 18 and one of the largest public schools in the UK. Dulwich College was founded in 1619 by wealthy actor Edward Alleyn who set up "God's Gift" to educate 12 poor scholars of nearby parishes. More about Dulwich College
