In 2006 the actor and comedian Miles Jupp decided to blag his way onto England's winter cricket tour of India by pulling a few strings with, funnily enough, contacts at BBC Scotland and a local paper in Wales (those great cricketing nations). With his press pass in his pocket, an unprepared and unqualified Jupp set off for a month-long, sin-soaked disaster in which he was really hit for six. A huge success at Edinburgh, A Fibber in the Heat (A Cricket Tale) comes to the Soho Theatre for two nights on its way - surely - to being recorded as a Radio 4 special.
