Every Friday, from 7-8pm, meet at the Sainsbury Wing Information Desk for a sixty-minute taster tour of the National Gallery. Within the collection are paintings from 1250 to 1900, divided into significant time periods. Highlights of the collection include Jan van Eyck's Arnofini Portrait and Botticelli's Venus and Mars, both can be found in the Sainsbury Wing which covers painting from 1250 to 1500. Significant masterpieces by Caravaggio (The Supper at Emmaus, 1601), Velazquez (The Rokeby Venus, 1647-51) and Rembrandt - his self portrait at the age of 34 - are also housed within the imposing gallery overlooking Trafalgar Square.
