These extensive formal and historic gardens perched on the edge of the River Thames contain a celebrated Cherry Garden, the Orangery Kitchen Garden and a formal listed avenue of over 250 trees. These delightful gardens, with an abundance of colourful herbaceous plants, are said to contain the oldest Christ's Thorn bush in the country. All this greenery is overlooked by the 17th century Stuart mansion Ham House, home to William Murray, a lifelong supporter of Charles I - which is also well worth a visit.
