Teenage Cancer Trust season curator Noel Gallagher headlines this Saturday night bonanza at the Royal Albert Hall with special guests Gruff Rhys, of the Super Furry Animals, and Blur pair Damon Albarn and Graham Coxon. With Oasis now firmly in the past, their co-founder's debut solo album, Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds, hit double platinum status in the UK and saw Gallagher pick up both the NME Godlike Genius Award and the Q Icon Award in 2012. Since performing at the first ever Teenage Cancer Trust show in 2000 alongside founder Roger Daltrey, Gallagher has appeared on the Royal Albert Hall stage five times - including two sell-out shows in 2010. Albarn and Coxon need no introduction, both having achieved great things outside Blur - Albarn with Gorillaz and his modern-day operas, and Coxon with eight critically acclaimed studio albums. Back in the heady days of Britpop you'd be crazy to even imagine the key components of Oasis and Blur sharing the same stage - although time will tell if they actually perform together in a trio. One senses even that may be just a little bit too much to ask.
