Of Monsters And MenIndie folk-rock band Of Monsters and Men are an Icelandic six-piece who are gradually captivating audiences around the world. Comparative to British band Mumford and Sons, the sextet sing in English and have reaped success from their debut album 'My Head is an Animal'. In fact, Britain lagged behind when it came to appreciating the simple guitar plucks and soothing harmonies of this band. The album topped the charts of their homeland and numerous European countries back in 2011, and even reached number six in the US Billboard chart a few months later, yet it took until the summer of 2012 for it to finally get a British release it then peaked at number three in the UK album chart. Their musical offerings may not be groundbreaking but they are undeniably alluring; they'll be stopping by Somerset House to perform their whimsical folk music as part of the Summer Series this July.

About Somerset House

Somerset House, once the site of a spectacular Tudor palace, now includes a magnificent 18th century art gallery housing celebrated collections belonging to the Courtauld Institute Gallery, as well as the Embankment Galleries (which replaced the Hermitage Rooms and The Gilbert Collection - the latter re-opened at the Victoria and Albert Museum in June 2009).
