Old Stock: A Refugee Love StoryA dizzying, darkly funny folk music theatrical hybrid based on a true story of two Jewish Romanian refugees, Old Stock: A Refugee Love Story covers sex, religion, tragedy and triumph. Although set in 1908, the plight of refugees is still a topical subject, as writer Hannah Moscovitch says: "With the Syrian conflict continuing to decimate a nation, and Trump..." The show follows Chaim and Chaya, played by Eric Da Costa and Mary Fay Coady, as they make a fresh start in the New World, watched over by The Wanderer, Ben Caplan. Following rave reviews at its premiere in Canada, 2b theatre company bring the production to Wilton's Music Hall in September for its first London run.

In the nineteenth century, Wilton's Music Hall was a great mirrored hall lit by a vast chandelier, with 27,000 crystals and 300 gas jets. Opera, operetta, variety shows and old-style music hall were played out to raucous cockney audiences of over 2000. More about Wilton's Music Hall
