As it makes its way around the globe en route to Beijing for the start of the 2008 Olympics in August, the ceremonial flame passes through many of London's boroughs carried by 80 torchbearers, including Dame Kelly Holmes, Sir Trevor Mcdonald and Amara Karan. Spectators get the chance to mark the occasion with a range of different community activities across London before the final torchbearer ignites a cauldron at the end of the route. Events dotted along the route include a special free outdoor music event hosted by the Southbank Centre on their Riverside Terrace at 2pm. The flame passes from Wembley through Notting Hill, Marble Arch, Oxford Street, Trafalgar Square, Somerset House, the South Bank, the City and East London before it reaches North Greenwich where the day culminates in a free, ticketed event at Peninsula Square by North Greenwich Arena.
