Book tickets for One Man, Two Guvnors
Richard Bean's smash comedy-drama, One Man, Two Guvnors moves to the Theatre Royal Haymarket as James Corden hangs up his tweed suit for the final time. Owain Arthur steps into Corden's well-worn shoes as he takes over the role of Francis Henshall, a blundering (and famished) minder who bites off more than he can chew when he takes on two clients and then struggles to keep them from meeting. Slapstick hilarity and even a little romance ensue in this play based on Goldoni's The Servant Of Two Masters, and directed by Nicholas Hytner. The Brighton based farce has more than a little of the Carry On about it and requires an amazing amount of comic wit and energy from the lead role. With some pretty gasp-worthy audience participation and an increasingly ridiculous sequence of events, I defy anyone with a pulse to keep a straight face.About Haymarket Theatre Royal
The Haymarket Theatre was built by John Potter on the site of the King's Head Inn and the Gun Smith shop in 1702. It has had a colourful history, complete with riots, death by stampedes, falling chandeliers and censorship - as well as plenty of smash hits. More about Haymarket Theatre Royal
