Open Court FestivalIn her first summer at the helm of the Royal Court Theatre, new Artistic Director Vicky Featherstone hands over the building to the playwrights in Open Court, a six week festival running from 10th June to 20th July. The festival features plays, ideas and events chosen and suggested by a group of over 140 writers. Initiatives include Weekly Rep, (Tuesday to Saturday, 11th June to 20th July) in which six new plays are acted out in the Jerwood Theatre Downstairs in six weeks, performed by one company of actors and four directors. Surprise Theatre brings a different surprise performance each night in the Jerwood Theatre Upstairs. And Playwright@Your Table brings a Royal Court playwright to your 'table' to read you their play in a secret location around the building.

About Royal Court Theatre

Dedicated to putting on new work and discovering new voices, the Royal Court Theatre was seen as 'the most important theatre in Europe' by no less an authority than The New York Times. In 1956 it staged John Osborne's Look Back in Anger - a landmark in modern British drama - and the Sloane Square theatre has continued to produce work of an equally high standard, with numerous productions making a successful transition to the West End.
