Opening the OlympicsReflecting on last year's euphoric sporting events, the Museum of London has launched a free London 2012 display. Open on 28th March 2013 - exactly 200 days since the Paralympic closing ceremony - Opening the Olympics features around 70 objects, costumes and personal accounts from the Games. Many of the objects will be on public display for the first time and with material collected before, during and after the Games it will create a fuller picture of the memorable events and the host city. Recognisable items such as Tom Daley's Union Jack swimming trunks and Bradley Wiggins' yellow jersey, worn during the opening ceremony, will be among those on display. Alongside these, the display also gives mention to the 'unofficial' Olympic stories such as home-made homages that sprung up across the city. It is hoped that the exhibition will allow for future generations to enjoy the spirit of the Games and it legacy.
