Outlandish Nights Co-curated by acclaimed songwriters Alasdair Roberts and Emily Portman, this mini-series reflects the darker elements in contemporary folk music. The pair are known for their literary take on song writing, taking inspiration from tradition but exploring new paths and musical ideas. This three-day programme welcomes the likes of acclaimed Scottish singer Alasdair Roberts, collaborating with award-winning Scottish poet Robin Robertson; The Furrow Collective for their London debut; the Moulettes, who incorporate prog and alt-rock, folk and classical; and Emily Portman, current holder of the BBC Radio Two Folk Award for best original song writing.

About Kings Place

Just 150 metres from King's Cross and St Pancras stations and with a waterside setting, the Dixon-Jones designed Kings Place combines the offices of The Guardian newspaper with a concert hall and two art galleries. As you'd expect from the architects behind the recent improvements to the Royal Opera House and National Portrait Gallery it's a well designed complex of curvaceous surfaces and appealing public spaces.
