Tom Basden brings his Fringe First winning political satire, Party, to London's Arts Theatre for a limited West End run. Two years after picking up the if.comedy Best Newcomer award at the Edinburgh Fringe, Basden is back with this bold statement in which four young idealists form a political party in an attempt to save the world. They plan how they would tackle the big issues - China, sex trafficking and cycle lanes - yet the fifth member of the group, Duncan, wants to save them all from themselves. The young comedians who star in Tom Basden's Party are all part of an exciting new comedy organisation called the Invisible Dot - one to watch if you're looking for cult comedy. Alongside Tom Basden is Anna Crilly, Tim Key (see Feburary's Tim Key: The Slutcracker), Nick Mohammed, Katy Wix and Jonny Sweet (another comedian with his own one-man show last month, Jonny Sweet: Mostly About Arthur). With such a stellar cast under the direction of Fringe First winner Phil Breen it's no wonder the Party has already earned itself plenty of accolades.About Arts Theatre
The Arts Theatre was built in 1927 as a members club, which allowed it to circumvent the censorship laws and perform unusual and avant garde fare. One of the smallest West End theatres, it has retained its reputation for short runs of innovative and controversial productions. More about Arts Theatre
