Who's the Pest? Could you eat insects? This and many other creepy crawly questions are posed by the Wellcome Collection through their Who's the Pest? series of events held in April and May 2013. Entomophagy (to give the eating of insects its proper name) could be a solution to some of our future food problems - insects are a good source of protein (which explains why Mexican restaurant chain Wahaca is about to include them on their menu). Events including walking tours - via the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, to the Grant Museum - installations and debates which put insects under the microscope. A highlight is sure to be the Deliciousness of Insects, two evenings of talks by Nordic Food Lab and entomophagy expert and TED speaker Marcel Dicke, complete with insect canapes, on 30th April and 1st May.

About Wellcome Collection

A major and fascinating cultural venue, the Wellcome Collection combines three galleries: 'Medicine Man', 'Medicine Now' and 'special exhibitions'. In addition you'll find the famous Wellcome Library, cafe, bookshop and a 'forum' to consider issues of science, health and human identity. The 1,300 objects on display show the great variety of considerations that these topics include. More about Wellcome Collection
