Little Angel Theatre presents the tale of puppet Petrushka who has no strings but longs for true freedom. This retelling of a classic Russian tale for the over fives - aimed at adults and children alike - is written by the celebrated poet John Agard and features music by Igor Stravinsky. Under the direction of Steve Tiplady, the Little Angel's softly spoken associate director, a host of colourful glove, table top, rod and marionette puppets are used to tell the story of a special stringless puppet who wants to break free from the control of his puppet master and find happiness in the arms of his ballerina love. On Friday 11th December the Little Angel hosts a special Russian Gala Night with the chance to talk to the performers after the show and to look behind the scenes. What's more, everyone gets a goody-bag full of stocking fillers and complimentary drinks and nibbles are served.Ages 5+
About The Little Angel Theatre
The Little Angel Theatre was founded by John Wright in 1961 in a derelict temperance hall in Islington. Every type of puppet is used, and themes, styles and stories are drawn from a wide range of cultural traditions. The company tours throughout the UK and abroad and The Little Angel also has an extensive Education Programme, which works with schools and youth groups. More about The Little Angel Theatre
