Plan B, aka Ben Drew, has recently become much more than an east London rapper. Aside from his third studio album 'iLL Manors', Drew has released a film of the same name, starred in the remake of The Sweeney, supported his community at the BBC Radio 1 Academy and set up his own charity. His debut album 'Who Needs Actions When You Got Words' was critically acclaimed and received five-star ratings, but it took his 2010 work 'The Defamation of Strickland Banks' to boost his status. With soulful songs such as 'She Said' and 'Stay Too Long', the multiplatform star attracted a greater audience and gained top ten hits. His latest album steps away from the Motown influences and instead offers political, heavy hip hop aimed at educating listeners on "David Cameron's broken Britain". Described by NME as "a one-man iPod shuffle", Plan B will be stopping by the O2 for one night to perform his broad spectrum of musical offerings.
About The O2 Arena
The centrepiece of the redeveloped Millennium Dome is the O2 Arena, the first purpose-built music venue in London. With a capacity of 23,000, it offers the rather soulless Wembley Arena some serious competition. Big name acts such as The Rolling Stones, The Killers, Justin Timberlake, Girls Aloud and Tina Turner have performed on stage, with the likes of Beyonce, AC/DC, Kings of Leon and Britney Spears set to appear in 2009.
