Polish Festival VIIICome and celebrate with London's Polish community in Ealing as summer draws to a close. This is the only festival we have ever featured that includes an outdoor Catholic Mass, dancing lessons and cool electronic music on the same bill. London is home to around a quarter of a million Poles, and this annual event is a great day out for all the family, with lavish spectacle, plenty of food and drink, and some wild music.

Proceedings begin at ten in the morning and are punctuated throughout the day with lotteries, prize givings, and talks, but if you don't speak Polish you can skip the speeches and enjoy some food instead or get ready for the next band. There are dancing displays and lessons to be had, and an all day music roster that begins with a traditional Karolinka, takes in a sung mass and some devotional music in the afternoon, and then provides a showcase for some uplifting Polish bands as the night wears on and the drink kicks in. This really is a great day out and the hospitality and community atmosphere are something rarely experienced in London.

Bands include: Orleta, the Gypsy Stars, Zywiec, Tatry, Normalsi, and the extraordinary Kasia Kowalska. There's also a chance for humiliation or triumph in the afternoon with a series of sports events for all the family.
