The Portavilion 2010 art project sees German art collective raumlaborberlin set up a mobile, bubble-shaped pavilion in over fifteen of London's parks and green spaces this summer, starting with a launch event on 20th May at Potters Field Park. From May to September the 'inflatable social space', part of the London Festival of Architecture, plays host to a vibrant programme of events by arts and dance organisations like Sadler's Wells, Tate Modern and the Roundhouse. The launch event at Potters Field Park sees Siobhan Davies Dance and Sadler's Wells perform in the Big Dance Bubble, the pavilion will then move to the grounds of Eltham Palace and Bruce Castle Park for dance performances, workshops and open stage dance jams. It's also a key venue for the biennial T-Mobile Big Dance festival which takes place from 3rd to 11th July 2010 at various venues across London. Look out for the bubble at the five Olympic host boroughs as part of Create 10, at Kensington Gardens for FUSE in July, and at Burgess Park for the Tate at the Mix Festival in August.About Potters Fields Park
Potters Fields Park occupies a prime spot between City Hall (from where the Mayor runs London) and Tower Bridge. The pedestrianised, grassy area on the south bank of the Thames hosts a variety of events and activities from the annual Thames Festival in September to seasonal Christmas fairs.
