Primal Scream & Echo And The BunnymenIn what is arguably the pick of the entire 2013 Teenage Cancer Trust programme, Bobby Gillespie's legendary band Primal Scream make their Royal Albert Hall debut in a mouth-watering gig alongside Liverpool retro rockers Echo & The Bunnymen. Winners of the first ever Mercury Music Prize for 1991's Screamadelica, Primal Scream have influenced a generation of fans and bands over their 30-year career. Bestowed with NME's Godlike Genius Award in March 2007, the hard-partying, Glasgow-based alt rock outfit remain one of Britain's most exciting and inventive bands. This will be their first UK gig with new bassist Simone Butler and fans can expect a sneak preview of some new material ahead of the May release of the band's tenth album, More Light. Ian McCulloch's post-punk outfit Echo & The Bunnymen have been around for even longer than Primal Scream and are still riding the crest of a wave since the release of their 2009 album The Fountain, the band's finest since the critically acclaimed Ocean Rain. This should be a real treat.
