Privates On ParadeSimon Russell Beale stars in Michael Grandage's production of Privates On Parade, Peter Nichols's second world war-set comedy, the first of five plays to be staged by the director at the Noel Coward Theatre for the following 15 months through which over 100,000 tickets are on offer for a mere £10. The well respected actor, who recently starred as Timon Of Athens at the National Theatre, plays the flamboyant Captain Terri Dennis who heads up the Song and Dance Unit while performing in the manner of Marlene Dietrich, Vera Lynn and Carmen Miranda. Set against the backdrop of the Malaysian campaign at the end of the Second World War, this award-winning comedy follows the trials of the recently-arrived Private Steven Flowers who discovers it takes more than a uniform to maketh the man.

About Noel Coward Theatre

Built by the Wyndham family as a companion to the Wyndham's Theatre, the Noel Coward Theatre is a stately building. Originally named the 'New Theatre', it shook off its unimaginative and inaccurate name in on its 70th birthday and became the 'Albery'. More about Noel Coward Theatre
