Propaganda: Power and PersuasionFrom the iconic depictions of Margaret Thatcher as Napolean, to the representation of the Olympics, propaganda comes in many forms and affects us all on a daily basis. The British Library presents a major exhibition exploring state propaganda from its origins in ancient Greece up until the present day. Through over 200 exhibits on display, ranging from Nazi propaganda to everyday objects, the exhibition uncovers the methods used to persuade and influence citizens, and reveals the powerful messages behind the cartoons, the films and the posters used in state propaganda. Related events include talks by the likes of Alastair Campbell and Michael Dukakis, and the Late at the Library propaganda-themed party.
