Purcell and Pork Scratchings: Night Shift Pub Tour

Classical music and pub crawls do not tend to coincide on a regular (if at all) basis, however The Night Shift will be stepping outside the box and onto the London pub scene. The result will be the intriguing and unprecedented Purcell and Pork Scratchings classical pub crawl. The world renowned Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment (OAE) has decided to take classical musical straight to the audience and will be offering refined musical pieces along with rarely performed bawdy drinking songs by the British composer Purcell. The orchestra will also play pieces by famous foreigners including Locatelli, Handel and the appropriately named Martini. The tour will commence on 31st January at the notorious The George Tavern in East London and will conclude on 22nd February at The Old Queens Head on Essex Road; for the full listings visit the OAE website www.oae.co.uk.
