Raindance Film Festival 2016The Raindance Film Festival, described by The Guardian as "the indie-est film festival this side of the Atlantic", is the UK's largest independent films festival and it's been going for over 20 years. The 12-day programme includes around 100 feature films, shorts programmes, seminars and workshops. Screenings this year include Caito Ortiz's Brazilian movie Jules and Dolores and Milos Radovic's Serbian/Croatian venture Train Driver's Diary, both of which are in competition for Best Film at the festival. Guillermo Arriaga also gives a masterclass, there's boozing n schmoozing at the Century Club and a closing gala at Picturehouse Central. All films are screened at the Vue Cinema in Piccadilly Circus and there's a glitzy awards ceremony for premium passholders and nominees on the Friday night.
