This spring London Zoo opens a new exhibition, Rainforest Life, which transforms the Clore Rainforest Lookout into a living rainforest featuring animals native to the South American rainforest and a special Night Life area. The animals include three types of monkey: titi monkeys, a golden-headed lion tamarin, and some very friendly marmosets, who appear along with two-toed sloths, sunbittern birds and agoutis rodents. The fragile ecosystem has been carefully reconstructed right here in London to give people what David Field, zoological director of London zoo, hopes will be "a real taste of these priceless forests that are disappearing fast." The exhibition is not only fun and interactive but also provides valuable information for scientists working in the field and helping with their conservation efforts - it's a sobering thought that all ten species in the exhibit are on the endangered list.About ZSL London Zoo
London Zoo in Regent's Park is one of the world's most famous zoos and home to over 12,000 animals. 'Meet the Animals' shows are held daily, giving visitors the opportunity to learn more about the animals from their keepers. Rare and beautiful creatures can be seen in the Aquarium, Gorilla Kingdom, the Clore Rainforest Lookout, Penguin Pool, Butterfly Paradise and in the Blackburn Pavilion - home to more than fifty species of birds.
