Hammersmith and Fulham council are putting on just one Fireworks Display this
year instead of the usual two. The traditional annual event is going ahead at Ravenscourt Park on 5th November while the
Bishops Park display has been cancelled due to ongoing major works to the park -
including an 'urban beach' - which will be a great improvement once they're
completed. The 32-acre park always puts on an impressive display of colourful exploding lights and there will be food and drinks stalls as well as a funfair to add to the night's entertainment. A few notes of warning from the organisers to those going along: make sure you get to the park early as there's no getting in after the display has started - the gates open at 6pm, the children's quieter fireworks are at 7.15pm, and the main (louder and more bombastic) fireworks start at approximately 8pm. Please leave your own fireworks, sparklers, dogs and alcoholic drinks at home (there are plenty of explosions and refreshments laid on at the park). To get a third off the ticket price (?7 is reduced to ?5) book online via www.lyric.co.uk or phone the Lyric Theatre Box office on 0871 221 1722. Tickets are also available on the gate for ?7 and under fives go free.
About Ravenscourt Park
Ravenscourt Park is a scenic green space with a selection of tennis courts - spread out in three areas of the park - basketball court, bowling green, lake and a kid friendly cafe - the Georgian stable block of Ravenscourt House. Beyond the cafe and by the entrance to Paddenswick Road a beautiful walled rose garden is tucked away. More about Ravenscourt Park
