Real Street Food FestivalNew for 2013 from the people behind the weekly Real Food Market comes the Real Street Food Festival, a quarterly street food festival which runs the full stretch of the Southbank riverside between the London Eye and Hungerford Bridge. Taking place on the August Bank Holiday, from 23rd to 26th August, there will be street food from all corners of the globe, from burgers sourced on the British Isles to all the spices of South East Asia. Malaysian, Korean, Taiwanese and Vietnamese cuisines compete for your attention with fresh pasta, paella and Polish smoked sausages. The whole of the Southbank is worth exploring this summer with the Festival of Neighbourhood bringing Beanotown, outdoor drinking and a sandy beach to this stretch of the Thames. The Queen Elizabeth Hall Roof Garden and nearby Alternative Guide to the Universe at the Hayward are also recommended.

About Southbank Centre

London's hub of cultural arts, The Southbank Centre announced in March 2013 that it's set for a £100 million revamp that will see the 1960s design finally move into the 21st century with a proposal that includes a floating glass pavilion, two more roof gardens, a space for riverside arts and a large pedestrian area.
