Revolution: Russian Art 1917-1932Revolution: Russian Art 1917-1932 is a powerful new exhibition that explores one of the most momentous periods in modern world history, when centuries of Tsarist rule were overthrown and Communist Russia was born. Hosted by the Royal Academy of Arts, the exhibition looks through the lens of the period's groundbreaking art with works on display by Avante Garde artists Kandinsky, Malevich, Chagall and Rodchenko, who all lived during the events and aftermath of the fall of the Tsar rule in Russia. With photography, sculpture, film and propaganda, this exhibition will mark the historic centenary by focusing on the 15-year period between 1917 and 1932, when Russian art flourished across every medium. The British Library also marks the anniversary of the revolution with a special exhibition, Russian Revolution: Hope, Tragedy, Myths.
