Shakespeare's classic tragic love story, Romeo and Juliet, comes to the National Theatre's Shed in a new version for young audiences by Ben Power "the most in-demand script-doctor in the country", wrote The Guardian when Power was a mere 28 years old, when his 'A Tender Thing' was first seen in 2009. Associate Director of Headlong Theatre from 2006 to 2010, and an Associate Director of the National Theatre since 2010, Ben has recently written the screenplays for Richard II and Henry V for BBC productions broadcast last summer as part of Shakespeare Unlocked. His Romeo and Juliet places the drama in a vibrant urban setting, bursting with colour, dancing and live song, performed by a company of eight actors. Suitable for families with children aged 8 years and over.

About National Theatre

Each year the three superb venues in the National Theatre put on a significant proportion of the world's best productions. From intimate character studies in the Dorfman Theatre, to grand spectacles in the Olivier, the National Theatre is the spiritual centre of the British theatrical tradition.
