Award-winning composer, singer and performance artist Mira Calix has created an interactive stone and sound sculpture set in the lakeside surrounding of Fairlop Waters, which visitors can experience through both touch and sound. Mira's abstract ambience sounds have won her a British Composer Award for her composition, My Secret Heart which premiered at the Royal Festival Hall in 2008. Her work has also featured in the Ether Festival at the Royal Festival Hall, and Le Jardin De Barbican, a commission played as part of Helen Chadwick's first retrospective at London's Barbican art gallery. Her latest installation, Nothing Is Set In Stone, is part of Secrets: Hidden London, a series of events - part of the London 2012 Festival - which are taking place in little-known spaces across London, encouraging visitors to explore new parts of the capital. Look out for more open air dance, opera, sculpture and other performances in canals, lidos and parks created specifically for London's lesser-known landscapes.

Located in the London Borough of Redbridge, Fairlop Waters is a spacious park and leisure facility with a two golf courses (9 and 18-holes), a floodlit driving range, a windsurfing and sailing lake, and the UK's largest bouldering park.
