Shoreditch FestivalOne of the annual highlights of the East London cultural calendar, the Shoreditch Festival takes place over July in Shoreditch Park bringing together a host of entertainment, music, theatre and dance - for free. The festival showcases the best of East London with live music, film screenings, floating stages, dance performances, art commissions, spoken word, theatre shows, heritage trails, podcast expeditions, food markets and plenty more with crafts, floats and boats. On Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th, is The Live Weekend, a unique programme of performance across 3km of the historic Regent's Canal. The Waterhouse Restaurant hosts festival events through the following week before the The Exploration Weekend on the 23rd and 24th, where visitors can explore East London's waterways with London Walks, take part in an immersive treasure hunt leading to a secret party and enjoy the annual Shoreditch Bark Dog Show. For more information go to www.shoreditchfestival.org.uk.

About Shoreditch Park

Originally rows of terraced housing, flattened in the 1940s by the Blitz, Shoreditch Park is now a small but well-loved community space. Temporary 'pre-fab' housing was erected on the site but was cleared betweem 1964 and 1973, creating the park. It regularly hosts a range of annual events as well as providing a home to tennis courts, a junior rugby pitch, a children's play area, a football pitch, a giant boulder for rock climbing, a volleyball court, an amphitheatre and a cycle hire scheme.
