Southwark Fireworks DisplaySouthwark Park promises a free family friendly Fireworks Display on Bonfire Night - expect a magical affair featuring music and a twinkling south London sky. Over 33,000 attended last year's event, one of the few free displays in London, so to make sure everyone can get to see the display Southwark Council has introduced a ticketing system - tickets are free but must be booked in advance. As well as the fireworks there are food stalls and two bars serving warming winter drinks as well as children's funfair and entertainment until 8.30pm and the display itself is especially pretty given its waterside location.

About Southwark Park

Southwark Park in Bermondsey first opened its gates to the public in 1869 and was one of the earliest parks to be opened by the Metropolitan Board of Works. Covering an area of 63 acres, the design of the park is attributed to Alexander McKenzie (who also landscaped Finsbury Park) and offers fantastic wide-open spaces, perfect for playing games, picnics, walking or just enjoying the scenery.
