Southwark Park promises a free family friendly Fireworks Display on Bonfire Night - expect a magical affair featuring music and a twinkling sky. This is definitely one for the youngsters with Southwark Council promising family fun, food stalls and warming winter drinks. Wrap up the kiddiewinks in their bobble hats and scarves and set out for this south London celebration. It's especially pretty given its waterside location as the lights dance on the surface and reflect the eye-catching explosions.About Southwark Park
Southwark Park in Bermondsey first opened its gates to the public in 1869 and was one of the earliest parks to be opened by the Metropolitan Board of Works. Covering an area of 63 acres, the design of the park is attributed to Alexander McKenzie (who also landscaped Finsbury Park) and offers fantastic wide-open spaces, perfect for playing games, picnics, walking or just enjoying the scenery.
