This major festival organised by the mayor's office takes us on a tour of London's rich heritage from the city's architecture and art to its theatres, music, food, film and fashion. The Story of London Festival takes place at many venues across London, celebrating the city through exhibitions, blogs, podcasts and performances. Fans of the city's architecture can explore everything from the Roman amphitheatre at the Museum of London to modern glass and metal constructions at a special heritage Open Day. There's a Film Weekend at the BFI Southbank including a celebration of Ronnie Scott's at 50, a series of walks with Blue Badge guides leading the way, and the heritage of the West End theatres is explored. One of the highlights is a trio of English Heritage events: the Waterloo Weekend at Apsley House, A Grand Victorian Fayre at Kenwood House and King Henry's Tudor Joust at Eltham Palace. The National Archives at Kew are also taking part, helping Londoners trace their family history. A wonderful all-encompassing celebration of the city.
