Strawberries and ScreenIt may not be SW14 but Lewis Cubbit Square in King's Cross is showing all the Wimbledon action with live coverage from the BBC on one of the biggest screens in central London. Strawberries and Screen, which moves from Granary Square just around the corner to Lewis Cubbit Square next to the cooling waters of the King's Cross Pond, is making a return from Monday 29th June and running until the men's final on Sunday 12th July. The first 50 or so visitors will be able to grab a deck chair for free and Rotunda will be providing refreshments including strawberries and cream, sandwiches and ice creams. Picnics are welcome, but if you don't have time to put one together, KERB will be on hand with delicious street food on weekday lunchtimes and Pimm's, Prosecco, cold beers and soft drinks are available all week. You can also try your hand at the sport at free, drop in pop-up tennis events where coaches will be on hand to organise games, coaching drills and to offer you tips on techniques. Adults sessions run on Wednesdays, 12noon to 2pm, at Lewis Cubitt Park and children aged 8 to 19 can practise their racket skills on Friday afternoons, 4pm to 6pm, at The Sports Pitch, off York Way.
