The Streatham Festival is a week-long programme of family fun taking place at Streatham Common between Saturday 2nd and Sunday 10th July. Every year, Streatham enjoys a fantastic week of arts events, bringing an exciting array of performances to the area. With a programme of over forty events from comedy, film, visual art, photography, literature, food, music and dance, there's something for everyone to enjoy. This year the Festival celebrates is its 10th year and since its conception, it's grown to include many local organisations, artists and residents, making it a key event in the Lambeth calendar. The overarching theme for 2011 is 'Earth'. Following the free day on the common at the start of the week, there's a whole seven days of events, workshops, talks and concerts taking place at venues throughout the borough including the World Music concert at St Leonard's Church on Saturday 9th July.About Streatham Common
Streatham Common is a large open space at the southern tip of Lambeth with great views across South London and to the North Downs of Surrey. Within the park are areas of woodland, grassland, wild flower meadows as well as The Rookery, a small landscaped garden. More about Streatham Common
