Tacita Dean: Still LifeAn exploration of still life by leading contemporary artist Tacita Dean featuring a new film diptych made especially for the exhibition, Ideas for Sculpture in a Setting and Prisoner Pair. Part of an unprecedented collaboration between three major London galleries, this free National Gallery exhibition focuses on still life while the neighbouring National Portrait Gallery display puts portraiture in the main frame. In May 2018, the Royal Academy of Artsopens its new galleries in Burlington Gardens with an in depth review of Dean's exploration of landscape in its broadest sense, from botany to cosmography, travel to weather.

About National Gallery

The National Gallery dominates London's Trafalgar Square with its neo-classical columns and portico designed by William Wilkins adjoining the square on its east side where it has been pedestrianised. Some of the finest examples of European art, ranging from 1260 to 1900, are included among the 2,300 paintings filling its halls and rooms. More about National Gallery
