This significant exhibition at the PACCAR Gallery at the British Library makes use of many of the important books and documents held here. The Magna Carta, the 1832 Great Reform Act and the Good Friday Agreement are all on display. Together they paved the way for liberty in this country and chart the roots of British democracy dating back more than 900 years. Through interactive debates and an online forum you can share your opinions and see how they compare to everyone else's. A series of special events and talks, stories and songs relate the subject of human rights to topical issues like the environment, equality, ID cards and detention without charge. It's a thoroughly thought-provoking exhibition and one that traces a remarkable history of the fight for liberty right up to the thorny topics of the day.
