A chorus featuring the lyrics "Ooh wop bop ba doo wop. Bop ba doo wop. Bop ba doo" is perhaps not the most likely way of ensuring rock stardom - but it was enough for Terrorvision. The Bradford rockers' 1994 hit single Oblivion, from their second album How to Make Friends and Influence People, propelled the four-piece into the mainstream where they stayed for some considerable time thanks to a steady stream of punchy guitar riffs, catchy choruses and singer Tony Wright's stand-out Yorkshire crooning. The band's third album, Regular Urban Survivors, was bristling with humour, including the classic Celebrity Hit List and the jerky pop nugget Conspiracy, which managed to rhyme "dogio" and "catio" with "patio". Having retired in 2001, Terrorvision released a greatest hits album in 2005, reforming for a couple of gigs which they claimed would be their "last ever". But with an army of fans calling for their return, the band couldn't resist the temptation of edging once again out of oblivion in 2007. While some have never forgiven Terrorvision for the monstrosity that was 1998's Tequila (incidentally, their most popular single, hitting No.2 in the charts), most will recall with fond memories Wright singing about "whales and dolphins" in the wonderfully infectious Perseverance. If you're one of majority, then head to the O2 Academy Islington for this one-off gig. Who knows, this time it may well be their last.About O2 Academy Islington

There are O2 Academy venues everywhere from Birmingham to Brixton and three in London alone (Islington, Brixton and Shepherd's Bush). The O2 Academy Islington is a shopping centre...
