So life begins at 40? Not according to the 50+ Show! Formerly known as the Retirement Show, this event is aimed at anyone who's reached the big 5-0 and is looking to enjoy every day going forward as much as the last. For two days London Olympia will be full of activities aimed at appealing to visitors; covering possible holiday destinations, health care options, a fashion show and cookery demonstrations; there will be plenty of features to keep guests entertained. Last year there were seminars covering a number of retirement subjects, including how to enjoy retirement with no stress as well as the opportunity to try out the game of bowls; the more daring of visitors could even strap on a harness and have a go at the climbing wall! The itinerary for 2012 is yet to be announced, so keep an eye on the website for more details http://www.50plusshow.com. About Olympia
Times have changed since the Olympia first flung open it doors to the public on Boxing Day 1886 for the Hippodrome Circus, with the promise of a spectacle involving 400 performers, 300 horses and six "funny" elephants. These days state-of-the-art equipment and a team of skilled in-house technical and support staff are on hand to help event organisers provide both trade and public shows that are top of their class.
