The Big DrawBringing together Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Maths, STEAM is the theme for The Big Draw in 2016. Sketch a scientific theory, trace some technology, etch like an engineer or draw mathematical equations with masking tape for the drawing festival which takes place nationwide throughout the month of October. Museums, galleries, heritage sites, libraries, schools and parks all play host to a variety of events encouraging people of all ages to discover how drawing can connect them with their surroundings and communities. London institutions like the British Museum, National Gallery, Victoria and Albert Museum, the Wellcome Collection, the British Library and Discover children's centre typically take part, hosting events so there's a good chance something will be going on at a venue near you.

About Victoria and Albert (V & A) Museum

The Victoria and Albert Museum (or V & A as everyone calls it) was originally founded in 1852 to inspire and educate British designers and manufacturers. Today it houses over 4 million items spanning centuries and hundreds of cultures. The stunning collection covers European, Indian, Chinese, Korean, Japanese and Islamic artefacts ranging from ceramics, glass, metalwork and sculpture to costume, armour, weaponry and furniture.
