An introverted, straight-laced astronomer and a free-spirited artist begin a surprising yet passionate relationship. At the Arizona desert-located space observatory, their constant struggle to connect starts an unsettling chain of events. Jeremy Brock, author of scripts for many critically acclaimed films including 'Mrs Brown' and 'The Last King of Scotland', returns to playwriting for the first time in over 20 years with The Blackest Black, staged in Hampstead Theatre's downstairs space. Directed by Michael Longhurst.

About Hampstead Theatre

The Hampstead Theatre has existed in various forms since 1959, when it opened in a Scout Hall and its opening season in 1959 included two new plays by Harold Pinter, The Room and The Dumb Waiter. In 1962 the company moved to a portacabin in Swiss Cottage where it remained for nearly 40 years. More about Hampstead Theatre
