Punchdrunk have a reputation for producing wonderful, memorable, immersive theatre and anticipation of their latest promenade work has already built up through a taster session - where audiences were given a 10-minute 'trailer' in a psychic shop in Dalston. The Drowned Man - A Hollywood Fable is inspired by Georg Buchner's Woyzeck, the German writer's play based on a true account of a man who was executed for stabbing his wife to death. Directed by Felix Barrett and Maxine Doyle, in the hands of Punchdrunk the story is performed in a huge central London space that has been transformed into the forgotten world of film powerhouse, Temple Studios. Anyone who has seen previous Punchdrunk productions including 2007's Faust and The Masque of the Red Death which took over Battersea Arts Centre for a year will already know that these theatrical events are not to be missed. Not suitable for under 16s. Don't miss out, check our ticket offers now.
About Temple Studios
For Pundrunk's new production, The Drowned Man: A Hollywood Fable, a vast building next to Paddington Station has been transformed into London's legendary Temple Studios, established in 1942 as the British outpost for major Hollywood studio Republic Pictures. The studio was then closed in 1962 with the events leading to this being kept a closely kept secret. More about Temple Studios
