The Fancy ForkAs the afternoon rolls into evening Israeli chef Shuli Wimer joins Farmer J in Monument to give us The Fancy Fork, serving a menu which draws on her five years of experience at The River Cafe and the Mediterranean flavours of her upbringing. Shuli has created a menu made for sharing with smaller dishes of padron peppers and tahini tuna tartare followed by larger plates of zucchini flowers stuffed with ricotta, basil and olive paste or a cherry salad with herbs, feta, pine-nuts and sumac. For those looking for more substantial dishes, choices include a freekeh risotto topped with grilled bone marrow, aubergine and parsley or grilled whole fish with smashed roasted potatoes, sage and rosemary. Finish with semolina olive oil cake which comes with herb syrup or opt for coconut custard with cherries, amaretto and almonds.

About Farmer J

Farmer J, known for bringing produce from British fields to the City with its protein- and veg-packed Fieldtrays, now has a second home on King William Street following the original on Leadenhall Street. Open first thing until evening, with leisurely brunch at weekends, food dished up at the counter includes mains of spiced rose harissa chicken, charred tofu steak with white miso, aubergine and ginger dressing, and whole roasted cauliflower.
