You think you can live by your own rules - until you work in the City... Torn between Chilean lithium deals and finding his childhood sweetheart once again, one man tries to find his place in the tough worlds of love and finance. When he realises the sky's the limit, he finds the only problem is the people in his way. The world premiere of Nicholas Pierpan's searing credit crunch drama takes place this September at the Old Red Lion Theatre in Islington. Directed by one of London's hottest talents in Matthew Dunster ("a young director at the top of his game" - The Guardian), The Maddening Rain stars Felix Scott, recently featured in the smash-hit movie Inception, and is produced by Richard Darbourne. Given Dunster's previous work at the National Theatre and The Young Vic, this is something of a coup for one of London's favourite pub theatres. About The Old Red Lion Theatre
One of London's most famous fringe pub theatres, the Old Red Lion Theatre in Islington was founded in 1979 by Charlie Hanson and is a welcome home to various new and experimental dramatic work. They run a 'Pay What You Can Thursdays' programme where, every Thursday, 20 tickets for are available on a first come first served basis, and you pay whatever you can manage.
