The Man Who Planted TreesAlready a proven hit, The Man Who Planted Trees returns to the Southbank Centre this summer after a smash-hit run in 2011. Puppeteers Richard Medrington and Rick Conte and artist Ailie Cohen created the show in 2006 based on the classic novel by Jean Giono and their show has been seen by children the world over ever since - including repeat visits to the Sydney Opera House and New York's Lincoln Center Institute. A multi-sensory theatrical adaptation which blends comedy, puppetry and storytelling, it tells the inspiring story of a shepherd who plants a forest, acorn by acorn. For ages 7+

About Southbank Centre: Purcell Room

Housed in the same modernist block as the Royal Festival Hall and sandwiched between it and the Hayward Gallery, the Purcell Room has a 372-seat auditorium, making it especially suitable for chamber music, mime, soloists and cabaret. With the London Philharmonic Orchestra having its home at the Royal Festival Hall, they regularly put on concerts in the Purcell Room. More about Southbank Centre: Purcell Room
